Are you ready to make something special?

I work with my clients to plant a little magic in the internet. .

So let's build a firm foundation for our work together.

Here are some things we will discuss for free and without commitment before you engage me.

Function

How will your website reinforce your business plan?

What is your website going to do? Is it a shop; a business description; a portfolio or a portal for information?

Will you be directing people in from external advertising, social media and marketing? Or will it be a starting point, to direct visitors outwards to some other destination?

Will visitors come to spend money through the site itself; are they coming here to learn about your work, are you providing links to third party products making you affiliate income, or will you want visitors to linger here while you collect revenue from advertisers?

Emotions

What makes people care?

As with everything in life, there will be two conversations going on in parallel - what your words say about the subject, and what your presentation will say about you.

A website's graphic design is its body language. Your visitors will get an impression of you almost before they read a word of content.

It's our job to transmit your strength of feeling about your work through the screen. This lets your prospective client care postively about you and your offer.

So let's talk about where you are coming from on this.

Messaging

What do you want your
visitors to do?

Now you site has the visitor's attention, it must answer just two questions.
'What do you do?'
and
'Can I trust you to do it for me?'

If it isn't doing that, then nothing else matters.

So let's dig a bit deeper into messaging techniques. Do you have a logo, fonts, colours? Is your branding reinforcing your message or is it just something that seemed like a good idea at the time?

How will the site work in partnership with your other marketing?

Structure

Let's discuss the
site visitor's journey.

There are standard recipies for sales-funnel sites and information sites. Portfolio and blog sites can be very different, but they all should be legible with a clear heirarchy to help your visitors find what they are looking for.

We shall have an informed discussion about how to optimise effective design while transmitting a message of sincerity and professionalism.

We can make your visitors' journey both enjoyable and easy for them. The trick is to express what you are offering sincerely, legibly and with flair.

Contributions

What will you and I each be
bringing to the project?

Let's discuss:

Hosting, domain registration, and SSL.
Branding and logo design.
Content: copy, photography, videos.
Premium plugins, eg: storefront integration, spam filters, GDPR compliance, analytics and mailing utilities.
Custom java or other scripts and/or lotties.
Training in post-delivery content management.

I promise clear and early discussions to manage the delivery of our contributions for an effective and enjoyable project.

Ts & Cs

Clarity on delivery, payment
and a handover that puts
you in charge.

At the outset, I will provide a clear routemap for your input and approval. We will agree stages for work, signoffs and payment up to and beyond the hand-over of a responsive website.

The risk-free signoff and payment structure allows you to exit from our agreement at any stage, to take over yourself or pass to other specialists.

I always maximise the proportion of content that is editable by you and provide a content management system to help you to add, edit and update  all your dynamic content. And I will train you how to use it.
